Newenden Parish Council will NOT use any marketing or illegal cookies.
In the event that you 'Opt In' to a service, you may be asked to accept a different cookie for this purpose. In the event that you decline, the service will probably NOT be available.
The ICC (International Chamber of Commerce) has released a guide to complying with the law that splits cookies into four categories:
i) Strictly necessary cookies
ii) Performance cookies
iii) Functionality cookies
iv) Targeting or Advertising cookies
The guide goes on to say that for cookie types 1,2 and 3 we can have the cookies turned on by default and tell visitors that by using the website they agree to this, see our notice above.
Only if we have type 4 cookies do we need to gain a visitor's explicit consent before switching them on.
Our cookies are used for 'client sessions' only. That is to say that when you visit sections of the website that allow you to control or add input to a section of the page/s, a 'session' is started and a cookie CMSSESSIDxxxxxxxxx (the x's signify a unique numeric session id) is sent to the clients (users) device. This provides the ability to continue from page to page without loss of the users input.
Once a client has closed the session by closing the browser the cookie will automatically delete shortly after.
At no time is ANY personal information stored, transferred or passed to ANY third parties for any reason.
