TEMPORARY OVERNIGHT ROAD CLOSURES – A28 RYE ROAD, NEWENDEN
23-25 & 29 AUGUST 2017
Overnight closures of part of A28 RYE ROAD, NEWENDEN, south of Tenterden, are planned from WEDNESDAY 23RD AUGUST 2017 for up to 4 WEEKDAY NIGHTS.
A28 RYE ROAD will be closed in the vicinity of the junction with A268 Rye Road and A28 Hastings Road, including a full closure of that junction on 25th August.

23, 24 & 29 AUGUST 2017 – A28 RYE ROAD closed in both directions from the junction with A28 Hastings Road southwards to the junction with Station Road / Whitebread Lane
The diversion (fully listed below) is via A268 to Hawkhurst, A229 until it joins A21 continuing to reach the B2089 through Cripps Corner to Broad Oak, then re-joining the A28, or vice versa.
25 AUGUST 2017 - full closure of the junction between A28 Rye Road, A28 Hastings Road and A268 Rye Road
For this night, there is an additional diversion at the beginning (or end) via A28 Hastings Road / High Street, B2086 Regent Street / Benenden Road / Rolvenden Road / The Street, Iden Green Road, Mill Street and Sponden Lane to re-join the above diversion at A268 Megrims Hill, west of Sandhurst
Access for residents will be maintained whenever it is safe to do so, but there are likely to be delays and certain times when this is not possible for safety reasons.
Closures are from 8.00 pm through until approximately 5.00 am each night.
The closures are to enable Kent County Council to carry out allow essential carriageway strengthening and resurfacing works.
The works have been timed to be carried out overnight, to reduce their impact.
These works are weather dependent, and if adverse conditions prevent works being fully completed within the planned dates given, the duration may need to be extended or some works re-scheduled.
